A Bears Fan and #12: An Adventure Written in the Stars

I’m going to Tell You a Story. One that has definitely been written by the stars. Where to begin? This all started when I was taking Malika Sempler Astrology’s Synastry Series. In class, I was studying several different charts; all of them were my family members. She used a famous comedian she liked as her “celebrity crush.” That gave me the idea to use Aaron Rodgers’ chart as my “celebrity crush” since he was part of this astrology community, and I had a love/hate relationship with him. Even though I was using his chart, it wasn’t like I hardcore crushed on him. I’m a Bears fan, born and raised, so he was far from a “celebrity crush” for me throughout most of his career. I do admit that when he became the Packers’ starting QB in 2008, my hatred of the Packers decreased. They moved from my #1 most hated team to my 4th. I would actually cheer for him as long as The Bad Man wasn’t playing the Bears. Damn you, Aaron, and your 24-5 W record over my beloved Chicago Bears! Though he was a Cheese Head, there was something about A-Rod that I actually liked. I didn’t understand this until I took Malika’s synastry class. I also have to add that from 2011-2025 I only paid attention to the NFL from the sidelines. I was too busy with school, work, and some deep emotional healing, so I barely paid attention, even to the Bears. Prior to 2011, Sundays were for football, and I watched every Bears game.
Astrology has been something I’ve enjoyed learning about throughout my life. It all started when I was a young girl who was obsessed with the night sky. Then, in grade school, my mom and I would read the newspaper horoscopes, but those actually made me think astrology was BS. What really drew me to astrology was my fascination with the constellations and reading about the personality traits of the different signs.
I would read books on different aspects of astrology throughout my life and then observe people. It did become somewhat of an obsession for me, and in high school, I had the Taurus symbol put on my class ring. That’s a whole story since I attended Mother McAuley High School, an all-girls Catholic school, and they wouldn’t let me put the symbol on my ring. So, I had to get the ring separately from the school. Yeah, I’ve been a bit of a rebel and an outsider most of my life. I associate this with one of my natal chart placements.
Fast forward to January 2023. I completed my master’s in psychology in 2019 and had just finished my licensure hours. I earned those hours primarily working at a teen residential treatment center in Malibu, CA, and in November 2022, I was fired after defending a client and going through a whirlwind of retaliatory BS for 3 months. Astrology was part of this, so everything that happened after I left that treatment center felt very timely.
I had met Debra Silverman at the Conscious Life Expo in February 2020, just before the whole world shut down for the pandemic. It just so happened that she completed her master’s degree in psychology at the same university I completed mine, and she has been studying the correlation between psychology and astrology for close to 50 years. In January 2023, I attended her Immersion, where Aaron was one of the presenters.
This interested me because, over the couple of years before that, I had become more of a fan since he spoke publicly about bodily autonomy, opposed vaccine mandates, and was doing spiritual work, including Ayahuasca and studying astrology. I didn’t know he was studying astrology until I signed up to get a reading through Debra Silverman’s group and attended the Immersion. My life changed significantly after attending that Immersion, and it had nothing to do with The Rodgfather.
November 2024 is when I took Malika’s Synastry Series. This was after I completed all 3 levels of Debra Silverman’s Astrology School and had been studying astrology daily for over a year. In December 2024, I emailed Aaron and proposed a book idea. I didn't expect him to receive it, since I found the email address through a Google search; it was a Gmail account, and for all I knew, it was fake. But it’s been fun thinking about the possibility that he’s been scouting me. I do have a few connections to him, some closer than others, but I have no clue whether he knows I exist.
I’m writing this blog in hopes of getting a book deal with him. If I make this public, maybe I’ll get a conversation with him, kind of like @rodgers_realm. I’m also writing it because exploring synastry through this connection has been one of the most fascinating experiences and has helped pull me out of one of my darkest times.
I will give A-Rod some credit for this, since watching him play for the Steelers has been so much fun, as has watching him throw some truth bombs and speaking up about bodily autonomy. Also, for the first time, I’ve been able to come out of the Rodgers closet and cheer for him publicly without feeling like a traitor to the Bears. Though some Bears fans will still consider me a traitor, oh well, haters are gonna hate. He also brought me back to my love of football.
The synastry I am going to explore here is beyond any synastry I have ever experienced. Until this process, I knew somatic astrology existed, but I never experienced it with another person. Well, let me tell you, A-Rod and I have this!
This is the biggest reason I started looking at the synastry and want to write this book. As I said, I have never experienced somatic astrology with another person until now. I discovered it because, as I studied our synastry chart, I knew what I had experienced in my life and some of what he'd experienced in his. It was quite mind-blowing how connected things were.
In early August 2023, I took a tumble down the stairs at my brother’s apartment and sprained my left ankle really badly. I still have a scar from it. This is the first time in my life I have sprained my ankle, and healing from it has been a journey. It still hurts. Then on September 7, 2023, I re-sprained the same ankle. I went to urgent care and had an X-ray to make sure there wasn’t a break. There wasn’t, thank God. This time I went through physical therapy, which I’m grateful for.
At the time, I wasn't paying much attention to the NFL. I heard about Aaron and watched the replay of his injury, but it didn't register that he was dealing with a left ankle injury at the same time I was. I think a big part of that is because my injury was so minimal compared to his. I was also navigating several personal situations, and the last thing on my mind was an NFL star’s injury. No offense, Aaron, but you were not the first thing on my mind at that time. I did, however, feel empathy for you and cheered for your return to the field.
It wasn’t until I was looking at our synastry charts that this connection hit me. And when I say hit me, I mean it. I gasped in shock. Astrology had always been something I wanted to believe in, but I was also always skeptical. Seeing our synastry, then looking at the transits for the time frame he and I were rehabbing our left ankles, made it so real. I could no longer be a skeptic, and I started exploring what I have been calling the Cosmic Clock.
For the astrology geeks:
The chart and transit synastry in play here are Mars and Venus. His Mars is at 8 degrees Libra in the 6th house. My Venus is at 8 degrees Aries in the 10th house. Transiting Mars was at 9 degrees Libra the day he tore his Achilles tendon. This is a telling manifestation of transiting Mars through our 6th/10th houses. His injury led to a breakthrough in my career. Sorry Aaron. I do think you will benefit from this too, in the long run.
That is just the beginning of this! Especially from a career perspective. When I think back, my career technically started the day before his debut as the Packers' starting QB. I will discuss this in the book because there is a whole story there! Oof. But Mars and Venus were both transiting our Mars/Venus Axis the week leading up to his debut. This discovery solidified the connection for me.
As I dove deeper into our synastry, I discovered more. I didn’t know much about Aaron until I started exploring the astrology of this. I never paid attention to his personal life. I vaguely remember the drama with his family and his brother being on The Bachelor. I knew about the vaccine situation and that he had done Ayahuasca. Then I found out he was into astrology. I was grateful he was speaking out about the vaccine, mainly because of my reaction in 2021 when I was mandated to receive all 3 doses. I have never been an anti-vaxxer, but I also knew a lot about vaccines due to past career experiences: the positives and the not-so-positives, so I didn’t jump on the “I hate Rodgers” bandwagon.
The first notable connections I recognized after the Mars/Venus axis were our Scorpio/Taurus connections.
For the Astro geeks:
He has Pluto in Scorpio in the 6th house in exact opposition to my Chiron in Taurus in the 11th house. He has other Scorpio placements that are conjunct my Uranus in Scorpio in the 5th house, in opposition to my Sun/Mercury Cazimi in Taurus in the 11th house. My Vertex and Juno in Scorpio in the 5th house are also conjunct his 7th house Scorpio placements.
I can see clearly how this is playing out for me. In many ways, he is the perfect person for me as a partner. From what I know of him through documentaries, books, and podcasts, I can totally see him and me being best friends and having a ton of fun together. With that said, I have no desire to be in a romantic relationship with him. It’s fun to think about from a business standpoint, but I’m admittedly averse to the whole celebrity lifestyle. Another thing: I think he is cuteish, but I’ve always been more of a linebacker Urlacher type. No offense, A-Rod; I do still think you are adorable. You just aren’t my typical type. I also should add that I won’t let myself consider anything romantic beyond having fun with it because you are married, and I refuse to lust after a married man.
That's something that drives me crazy about the world of astrology; everything seems to be based on romantic or sexual connections. Synastry happens between two or more people, not just romantically or sexually. Looking at the synastry between parent and child can be so helpful in parenting. Seriously! Go check out Tara Vogel; she does amazing work in this area.
Though I don’t look at Aaron romantically or sexually, our Juno and Venus placements are another aspect of our synastry that has been really impactful. After seeing where my Juno was in relation to his chart, I looked at where his Juno was in relation to mine. Oh man!
Astrology Geeks:
I already knew that his Venus was at 25 degrees Libra in the 6th house, conjunct my North Node at 24 degrees Libra in the 5th house. Then I discovered that his Juno was at 24 degrees Aries in the 12th house, exactly conjunct my South Node at 24 degrees Aries in the 11th house. When I began researching these aspects, I knew I had to do something with this information. I knew that he and I had a deeper connection and some work to do; I could already see it playing out.
With Juno conjunct the South Node, he and I have past-life connections. Yes, I know this all sounds woo-woo, and on some level, it is, but it could also be very tangible in real life. We both have ancestors from Ireland, so there may be some Irish connections. With his Venus conjunct my North Node, he is meant to help me embrace working well with others. The house axis is interesting too, since it is his 6th/12th house axis and my 5th/11th house axis. So he is being of service and helping me heal on a deep spiritual and psychic level; he has already been helping me heal my toxically independent nature that fears losing herself in community. Tell me that isn’t an Aries South Node, 11th house manifestation! Since I am a professionally trained clinical psychotherapist and astrologer, with planets and points in his 6th/12th house axis, healing is happening for me on a deep, psychological level, and possibly for him too. If the book comes to fruition, this will be another great example of 6th/12th and 5th/11th house synastry.
Another aspect of this Aries/Libra nodal connection I find interesting is our relationship to the military through our ancestors. His paternal grandfather flew a B-24 bomber for the US Air Force during WWII and became a POW, later testifying to war crime investigators about the mistreatment he experienced. Both my grandfathers were in the Army, and my maternal grandfather was on the front lines of the Korean War. Neither of my grandfathers was decorated for their military careers that I know of; however, one was decorated for his career with the Chicago Police Department and the Illinois State Police Department. This grandfather was also a founding member of AFTE (Association of Firearm and Tool Mark Examiners), which still exists today. This represents the Aries/Libra nodal axis very well. It also reflects the 5th/11th and 6th/12th house placements.
Moving the South Node/Aries into the North Node/Libra representation leads to real life, as we are currently living.
Venus just finished its transit over my North Node and his Venus. It’s about to retrograde and will go over these placements again. So, I’m using this Venus retrograde to my advantage. I’m going to share one more connection we have, which very much represents our Nodal/House synastry. I have connections to the NFL in a few different ways. One of them is that the Butkus family were my grandparents’ neighbors when they all lived in Roseland. They were close enough friends that one of the Butkus’s was my uncle's godparent. For those of you who aren’t Catholic/Christian, being a godparent is historically viewed as an honor.
Aaron, here is my proposal: I want to write a story on astrological synastry and how the stars play out in real life. Diving into the depth of these connections and writing about them as part of integrating what presents when doing plant medicine. I don't want to participate in plant medicine together right now. We have both done our journeys and ceremonies; I want to use our synastry to write about integrating and the healing that comes from these experiences.
This could be a win-win for both of us. On my end, I want to get back on my feet from everything that I have experienced over the past few years and start a non-profit to help troubled teens. I have some thoughts on how this could benefit you too, but that would require a 1:1 conversation for me to share; it is not for public knowledge at this time.
Good game yesterday. It wasn’t as fun to watch as the Bears’ 59-point game (sorry), but I enjoyed watching both games simultaneously. Cam and TJ were on fire! DK needed a little extra love; I wasn’t thrilled with some of the calls, or should I say, lack of calls.
Hope to hear from you.
