Dear God, It's Me, Christina

ree

Dear God,

It’s me, Christina. I heard Margaret’s conversation with you the other day, and I completely felt her, so I thought I’d write you too. Now, as an adult, after talking to you my entire life, I’m still wondering if you are there.

Part of me wants to be a complete sarcastic b*tch with you, since that has been the nature of our relationship throughout my life, but I’m tired. Our relationship over the generations has been pretty turbulent, to say the least. With all the hangings, burnings, drownings, amongst other things that I choose not to discuss. I’m starting to believe that you really have an issue with women. Then again, you haven’t been all that kind to men either, so maybe it’s that you have a problem with humans. Why did you create us?

As I write to you today, I feel like I’m writing a professional letter of complaint to HR. Do you have an HR department? I would imagine those would be the Angels and Saints. Can I bypass them and go straight to you? I mean, you're supposed to be my father, do I really have to stand in line, make an appointment, or go through security to talk to you?

Okay, well, I hope this reaches you directly. It honestly makes me sad that I can’t just have a conversation with you. I’m starting to wonder if your Angels and Saints have even been giving you my messages. I’ve been talking to you for decades, and you haven’t answered me. Ok, that’s not exactly true. You answer me on some things, but not the big things. The things I’ve been asking you about since I was a little girl. I keep being told by your other humans that I just have to be patient and keep doing your work. Well, I have been patient for 40+ years, and I have done everything you have asked of me. At this point, I’m done! I’m going on strike until you answer the questions I’ve been asking you for decades and you answer my prayers!

Today is Grandpa’s birthday. Please tell him happy birthday for me, and that I love and miss him. Never mind, I’ll just talk to him myself. He always answers when I talk to him!

By the way, the Christians and Jews are still fighting, but now the Muslims are in on it too. Any chance you want to step in before your humans destroy each other?

Losing Patience,

Christina
